![]() I would absolutely love being able to play the same account on my phone as I do on my browser. The reason I would suggest a time cap is that it makes players return, rather than logging in and mining and checking back in 7 days for 99 for exampleįirst let me say I've loved playing this game since I started roughly a month ago. *The only thing I may suggest is a cap on time 10,12,24 hours (Would suggest polling the time cap if considered) Option 1: Although it would take work to balance the game for account for offline exp it would in turn extend the life of the game in the sense how long it would take to max an account. Not to penalize players for not being online. Option 2: This is initially my favorite one, but after playing devils advocate in my head I would decide against this. (Unless there was a main server, server for HardCore mode, and a server for a HardCore season where u would play hardcore mode for X days and get rewarded at the end and character would migrate to regular hardcore server) No crossplay or multiple servers is always a negative thing for me when playing mobile game Cross play is an important aspect of games especially if/when community updates come and u can interact in some way in the game. I hope I can open up this discussion and gather some great feedback from everyone. I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on this. But I probably wouldn't release a native app for the game. Option 4 - Scrap offline progression entirelyĪs simple as that. But they would be developed side-by-side, with the main version of the game being the priority. Cloud saves would not be compatible with each other. XP Rates would be different to accomodate for offline progression. This option would mean that the Android & iOS App is a separate entity from the main browser game. Option 3 - Separate mobile version of Melvor Idle This would also mean that I do not need to change many of the XP rates in the game to accomodate. Same as above, but this will reduce your XP gain while offline by maybe 1/2 or 1/4. Option 2 - Implement Offline Progression, but reduce offline XP rates By that, I mean less XP for pretty much all actions in the game. If this were implemented, major balance changes would occur to the game itself to accomodate. This will simply add the ability to level without having the game open. There are a few options which I would like to go through, so I can collect all your feedback on this matter. We would see maxed accounts within a week or so, as the game has been designed to be leveled when actively open. The downside? The game is not currently balanced to accomodate for offline progression. There's a lot of variables at play here with offline progression, but it is mostly straight-forward to implement. This would be bad news instantly upon mobile release, and I would be put on a stake and burned alive if I left it as is. That way, you do not need to have the app open 24/7 to progress. Some small UI changes and it is ready to go.įor this to be an ideal game on mobile, it needs to have some form of offline progression. Currently, the game looks somewhat "OK" on mobile devices which is great. One of my goals for this game is to have a native Android and iOS version that can be downloaded from the respective App Store. With the game's popularity increasing, I need to open up the discussion of a topic that needs to be addressed. Also a massive thank you to my Patreons who are directly supporting me, it means a lot to me! I thank everyone for their support, and absolutely love seeing the community work together to help each other out. It is great to see so many new players joining, as well as still seeing so many of those who have been here from the beginning. The last few weeks have been pretty crazy in terms of new players, server issues, game updates and the likes. 7) No spam or self-promotion (server invites, advertisements, etc) without permission from a Moderator.6) Obvious trolling means obvious consequences. ![]() This includes text, images, or links featuring nudity, sex, hard violence, or other graphically disturbing content. 4) All discussions and posts must relate to Melvor Idle. This includes suggestions that you may not agree with. 2) Respect each other's opinions, even if you disagree with it.We don't need to be specific, you know what this means.
